A number of events take place every BUFTA season including:

BUFTA Academy

WHAT IS BUFTA ACADEMY ROADSHOW?

For two weeks in 2018, BUFTA will visit Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth across for the annual BUFTA Academy Roadshow. The BUFTA Academy is an opportunity for high school students to meet and talk to one of our teaching staff and industry experts directly about film and television and to prepare them to enter BUFTA.

To book your school for an interactive session, please click here to register. This will allow you to secure the relevant location, date and time. Please see the available dates below.

Should the dates not be suitable for you, please indicate your preferred date via the ‘alternative date button’ located at the bottom of the registration selection.

BUFTA Masterclass

ABOUT THE BUFTA MASTERCLASS

Designed to help teachers help students, the BUFTA Masterclass is a highly coveted, hands-on series of professional development workshops that incorporate key aspects of film making into an action packed day of training. Covering lighting, editing, screenwriting and filming. For teachers who have participated in the Masterclass program in previous years, an advanced Masterclass is available.

ENTERTAINMENT: Jason Gray from Coast Magicians

In 2017, we welcomed back our host James Mathison to the BUFTA stage, and were lucky enough to have magician Jason Gray perform! 

James is a well-known TV host, featuring on programs such as: The Celebrity Apprentice Australia, Ready Steady Cook, Channel V, The 7pm Project, The ARIA Awards, and Australian Idol. Over the past decade, James has worked hard to establish himself in the industry and uses his status to give voice to the younger generation of Australians.

Jason is a professional close up and stage Magician from Queensland. Featured on the hit television show Australia’s Got Talent, Jason impressed celebrity judges Dannii Mingoue, Kyle Sandilands and Brian McFadden with his fresh and unique approach to the stage!

BUFTA is proud to announce that James Mathison will be hosting the 2016 Gala Awards and Ellen Reed will be performing! 

James is a well-known TV host, featuring on programs such as: The Celebrity Apprentice Australia, Ready Steady Cook, Channel V, The 7pm Project, The ARIA Awards, and Australian Idol. Over the past decade, James has worked hard to establish himself in the industry and uses his status to give voice to the younger generation of Australians.

In addition to wowing The Voice Australia celebrity coaches Jessie J, Delta Goodrem, Ronan Keating, and the Maddens, Ellen Reed has also performed live for former US President Bill Clinton, The Queensland ALP Launch, Queensland Firebirds and the Australian Olympic Swimming Team.
